The United States of America is a country that believes in democracy and hasunfavorable ties with communist countries. Once in powerCastro executed and imprisoned thousands of political opponents, nationalizedindu stry, collectivized agriculture, and established a one-party socialiststate. In the early 1960s Castro openly embraced Communism and make closeties with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR), relying on Sovieteconomic and military aid approving limited economic reforms that legalized some bump enterprise.
